Michael Waldron has over 25 years of helping management teams navigate regulatory, transactional, corporate governance, and litigation matters while mitigating risk and expanding market position. He has extensive experience advising and representing hundreds of financial services companies both in-house and as outside counsel.
After a nine-year stint as Chief Compliance Officer at Bayview/Community Loan Servicing, LLC, where he modernized their compliance management system, he was instrumental in the sale of the residential mortgage servicing business in 2021-22. His leadership and sound counsel steered the integration of RightPath Servicing to Mr. Cooper. As a trusted advisor, he served as Senior Vice President for Mr. Cooper Group where he informed executive decisions and delivered solutions that achieved business objectives while complying with investor and regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
His success in optimizing compliance, quality, legal, and risk solutions in financial services led to the launch of his advisory services and staffing company where he delivers strategic direction to management teams on legal/compliance issues and corporate governance matters. He advises on creating cost-effective risk mitigation structures that support the clients’ direction and growth.
Mr. Waldron holds a Juris Doctorate from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and Bar Admissions in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is the author of, “Creating a ‘Culture of Compliance’ in the CFPB Era, “Mortgage Compliance Magazine, October 10, 2013, editor of, Mortgage Finance Regulation Answer Book, 2011-2012, published by the practicing Law Institute, and co-author of chapters, “Repurchase Demands and Mortgage Insurance Claims” & “Residential Mortgage Loan Basics.” Mr. Waldron has also shared his expertise in business, finance, mortgage banking, consumer financial services and privacy and data security in over 40 speaking engagements.
